Kochi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) informed the Special Court on Thursday that the investigation into the SNC-Lavalin case was in progress and all the allegations raised in connection with the case were being looked into. In an affidavit filed in response to a petition filed by T.P. Nandakumar, Chief Editor, Crime fortnightly, it said that further investigation were on into the role of various persons, including the former Electricity Minister G. Karthikeyan. The CBI said no witness who came forward voluntarily to give statements had been ignored or sidelined. The CBI also dismissed the contention of the petitioner that further investigation would be affected by changing the investigation officer. The petitioner had no right to demand that a particular officer should investigate the case. The allegations raised by V. Deepak regarding financial transactions were being verified, it said. The case relates to awarding the contract for renovation and modernisation of the Pallivasal, Sengulam and Panniyar hydroelectric projects to SNC-Lavalin at a higher rate. Mr. Kumar had sought a detailed investigation into all the financials transactions that took place in connection with the awarding of the contract.
