Milad Mubarak celebrated

Festive cheer: Dawoodi Bohra community members taking part in the 100th birthday celebrations of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin, at Red Hills on Thursday.

HYDERABAD: Dawoodi Bohra community organised grand celebrations to commemorate the 100 {+t} {+h} Milad Mubarak (birthday) of the community's spiritual leader Syedna Mohammad Burhanuddin here on Thursday.

Anjuman-e-Taheri organised a procession in culmination of its 40 days of celebrations. The procession proceeded from Mohammedi Masjid Complex, Red Hills to Nampally and back. A live telecast sermon by the Syedna will follow on Friday, a press release said.

The activities during the 40 days include, among a variety of sports events, a baton relay from Andhra Pradesh to Mumbai with a message of peace and brotherhood, participated by 1,000 people, said the note.

Dawoodi Bohra Jamat of Secunderabad conducted another procession from Nallagutta and took it through areas such as M.G. Road, Subhash Road, R.P. Road and Ranigunj.
