Erode
ERODE: A two-day general wildlife census operation got underway at the Sathyamangalam forest division in Erode district on Friday. Apart from the forest personnel, 54 volunteers including WWF personnel and members of Sathy Wildlife Association and other environmental groups are taking part in the exercise. The Department of Forests had conducted a training programme for the volunteers on Thursday. The forest personnel and experts trained the volunteers on the methods to be adopted during the census.
