Meet on career guidance to be held today

VIZIANAGARAM: Mandavilli Institutes and Admission Diary will jointly create awareness among parents and intermediate students on career guidance free of cost at Ananda Gajapathi Auditorium from 9 am to 1 pm on March 27, according to M.S. Umasankar, Director of the institute in a release here on Friday.
Protest staged
Three major trade unions on Friday staged a protest demonstration at the Collector's Office demanding cancellation of contract/outsourcing system in government departments. V. Krishnam Raju (AITUC), M. Srinivasa Rao (INTUC) and K. Sanyasi Rao (IFTU) said that the state government instead of filling up 1.50 lakh vacant posts in various government departments, had been appointing educated youth under contract/outsourcing system. As a result, welfare schemes were not being implemented strictly.They demanded the government to cancel the outsourcing system, fill up vacant posts and implement minimum wages. Later, they submitted a memorandum to DRO.
