GO issued hiking contract JLs' remuneration

HYDERABAD: The State Government on Friday issued orders hiking the remuneration of Contract Junior Lecturers working in the Government Junior Colleges in the State. Accordingly, the contract lecturers will get a monthly remuneration of Rs. 18,000 both in urban and rural areas.

According to a press release issued by the Chief Minister's office, there were about 9,100 contract lecturers working in the Government Junior colleges under the Intermediate Education Department.

They were being paid Rs. 8,500 and Rs. 7,500 per month in urban and rural areas, respectively, so far.

The enhanced remuneration will come into effect from the next academic year – from June 1, 2011.

The hike in remuneration would further burden the Government Rs. 90.56 crore annually.
