Tulasi Reddy reviews 20-Point Programme

NIZAMABAD: The 20-Point Programme Implementation Committee chairman N. Tulasi Reddy has asked the authorities to achieve first rank for the district in the programme implementation by eliminating poverty. If the programme was properly carried out, the district would get back its past glory, he said.

Reviewing the programme implementation in the district with the authorities, here on Friday, Mr. Tulasi Reddy, said he had so far reviewed the programme in 18 districts and by the month-end, all districts in the State would be covered. In the programme execution, the State achieved first position during 1992-93 and the district ranked 10th position in 2009-10, he said and advised the officers to make efforts to bring it to the first place.

Flexi calendar released

Releasing the flexi calendar on the 20-Point Programme, he said it should be unveiled in all government offices and educational institutions for proper publicity about the programme.

Elocution and essay-writing competitions should be organised twice a year for students and prizes distributed on November 19, the birth anniversary day late Indira Gandhi.

Dr. Tulasi Reddy later visited the Ankapur, an agriculturally rich village in the district and interacted with farmers on their development. He also observed crop fields and get details on turmeric farming. Earlier, the Collector D. Varaprasad explained him progress in implementation of various schemes in the district.
