Special Correspondent
PUDUKOTTAI: A total of 118 cases have been registered against political parties and candidates for violation of model code of conduct.
In a press release here on Friday, A. Suganthi, Collector, said that a vehicle belonging to K.P. Krishnan, AIADMK nominee for the Alankudi constituency, was parked at the Collectorate, while he came to file the nomination papers on Thursday, thereby hindering flow of traffic.
Twenty vehicles used by his supporters at Alankudi also violated the norms. The Alankudi police have registered 20 cases in this connection.
M. Pazhaniappan, independent candidate from Viralimalai, had interrupted free flow of traffic at Sithannavasal while arriving to file the nomination papers.
