“Officials entrusted with enforcement of model code of conduct could work without fear” MADURAI: The Madurai Rural Superintendent of Police, Asra Garg, has warned that candidates of political parties or their supporters threatening officials on election duty would be arrested and remanded to judicial custody. In a statement issued here on Saturday, Mr. Garg said that it was an offence to intimidate officials on poll duty. Officials entrusted with enforcement of model code of conduct, he said, could work without fear and lodge any complaint of intimidation from the contestants or their supporters. The SP can be contacted in his mobile phone (94453 00002) for lodging complaints.
