Jagan to cover a distance of 800 km.

To console seventeen families

VIZIANAGARAM: The nine-day-long ‘Odarpu Yatra' of former MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy will begin from Monday.

Barring Pachipenta mandal, he will tour all the 33 mandals covering a distance of 800 km and console 17 families.

During his tour, Mr. Jagan will unveil about 50 statues of YSR and address public meetings, according to the route map released by former minister Penumatsa Sambasiva Raju. His supporters and former senior Congress leaders Tadi Venkata Rao, Peddinti Jaganmohana Rao, Vakada Nageswara Rao, and others are making arrangements for the yatra.

Transporting of statues of YSR to identified villages has already begun. On Monday, he will reach Kothavalasa from Visakhapatnam and address a public meeting. After unveiling YSR's statue at Anandapuram junction, he will cover Vepada, L. Kota, S. Kota, Jami and Gantyada mandals and reach Vizianagaram for night halt.

On the second day, after offering prayers to Sri Pydithalli Ammavaru in the morning, he will leave for Gajapathinagaram. This is his first visit after launching the YSR Congress Party and releasing the party flag. A number of senior Congress leaders who have already joined it are in a buoyant mood as they feel that a number of former sarpanchs, MPTCs and ZPTCs from other political parties will join the party in every mandal.

The yatra will end with the unveiling of a statue at New Poorna junction and public meeting here on April 9.
