CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has urged the Centre to give a bonus of Rs.100 per quintal on the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for wheat in the larger interest of the farming community. Talking to media persons in Rohtak on Saturday, he said he had written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar to give bonus to the farmers. The farmers, he said, should get remunerative prices for their produce. He disclosed that the decision to set up “Haryana Backward Classes Commission” was taken in consonance with the demand of the Jats. The Commission would submit its report within a month on inclusion of castes like Jat, Jat Sikh, Bishnoi, Tyagi and Ror in the Other Backward Classes category.
