BHUBANESWAR: Living legend and the diva of Indian classical dances, Yamini Krishnamurthy will be conferred the Guru Debaprasad Award for her pioneering contribution to Indian classical dances during the inaugural evening of the annual Guru Debaprasad Das memorial dance festival at Rabindra Mandap on Tuesday evening. City-based Tridhara Odissi dance institution is hosting the event. Tridhara director Gajendra Panda said Odissi gurus Mayadhar Raut, late Dullav Singh, and late Raghunath Dutta had been past recipients of the award that was instituted four years ago in memory of late Odissi Guru Debaprasad Das. To mark the occasion ‘Attendance,' a dance journal, India's only year book of dance, being brought out by dance historian and critic Ashish Mohan Khokar, will be released.
