SSLC exams begin

CHENNAI: Nearly 8.5. lakh students of the State Board appeared for the class X SSLC examinations that began on Monday. In Chennai, as many as 35,600 students took the examination, sources said.

School Education Department sources said elaborate security measures were in place across all the centres. The examinations, which began with the Language I paper on Monday, end on April 11. Students will take the Language II paper on Tuesday, English I on March 31, English II on April 1, Mathematics on April 5, Science on April 8 and Social Science on April 11. Sources said four cases of malpractice were reported in Chennai. The class X examinations for students of the OSLC stream also began on Monday.
