Senior citizens honoured

Achievers: Ninety-one-year old artiste Channappa Basavappa (seated) at the Senior Citizens' Day programme at Vidhana Soudha in Bangalore on Monday. Mr. Channappa was among those honoured for their contribution to different fields. The other award- winners are A.P. Gundappa (education), A.L.S. Murthy (service to senior citizens), Guram R. Narayanappa (handicrafts), and M.R. Krishnamurthy (dance) and Senior Citizens Welfare Trust, Dharwad. Minister for Women and Child Welfare C.C. Patil gave away the awards.
