In the net:Banjara Hills ACP R. Ravinder Reddy with the three cricket bookies. HYDERABAD: Police on Tuesday arrested three bookies from Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills in city, a day ahead of the India-Pakistan semi-final match of cricket world cup. An amount of Rs. 1.04 lakh, two laptops, a TV set and 22 mobile phones were seized from the arrested, J Shivaji, 45, B. Giridhar Reddy, 40, and P. Suri, 34, the Banjara Hills ACP, R. Ravinder Reddy, said. Shivaji of Vijayawada was earlier arrested in cricket betting cases. He rented a flat in Sringar colony and was organising betting on cricket matches in the guise of gaming house. Based on information given by him, the Banjara Hills police caught Giridhar Reddy who was accepting bets from punters. Confession of Reddy led to the arrest of Suri. The police have already busted five such rackets and arrested nine persons in past 10 days.
