Corrections and Clarifications

Two answers in the solution to Crossword 10114 (March 30, 2011) were given as ruined for 14 Across [He attacks one who helps after rescue begins (6)] and chess for 3 Down [A conservative cuts and bites (5)]. The answers should have been raider and chews.

The photocaption that accompanied the report “Riots cannot be justified, but no question of apology, says Advani” (March 29, 2011) wrongly spelled Minhaz Merchant as Minaz Merchant. However, the text spelled the name correctly.

A sentence in the last paragraph of a report “No police verification of students strength” (March 29, 2011) said young children were afraid of public … It should have been police.
