Chickballapur: Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) has been awarded the Best Airport India award by Skytrax World at the airport awards ceremony in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Wednesday.
The “prestigious and creditable” award is based on 11.38 million survey questionnaires completed by over 100 nationalities of world air travellers, covering more than 240 airports worldwide in 2011. Edward Plaisted, Chairman, Skytrax, presented the award to Hari Marar, President, Airport Operations, BIAL, at the event in Copenhagen.
Established in 1999, the Skytrax awards are held in high esteem for the clarity of process and rigorously applied rules of total independence. “This award is testimony to the tremendous effort that the team has put into maintaining the highest levels of operational excellence at the BIA. It is heartening that the results are being seen and felt by passengers across the globe who have rated us to win this award,” said G.V. Sanjay Reddy, Managing Director, BIAL.
