Lahiri in joint lead

PANCHKULA: Anirban Lahiri scored a seven-under 65 to share lead with Brazilian Adilson Da Silva on a two-round total of 137 in the Aircel PGTI Players Championship at the Panchkula Golf Club here on Thursday.

Lahiri, who had an even par opening round, banked on his superb hitting to garner as many as nine birdies against two bogeys.

Da Silva's decent one-under 71 score following his first-round 66 helped him keep company with Lahiri.

Naman Dawar (67, 71) was third with an aggregate of six-under 138, while local golfer Harendra Gupta (70, 69) and overnight leader Rashid Khan (65, 74) were a further stroke behind.

Gaurav Ghei, Mukesh Kumar and Raju Ali Mollah shared the sixth spot on four-under 140. Gaganjeet Bhullar, Shamim Khan and Sudhir Sharma were tied for the ninth place with matching totals of three-under 141.

The cut was declared at six-over 150. Altogether 55 professionals made the last two rounds.
