CHENNAI: A. Raegan's brace propelled ICF to a 3-0 win over SBI in a lop-sided St. Joseph's-CFA senior division league clash here on Thursday. ICF showcased its might with some attacking football in the first session. S. Fredy opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when he deftly netted in J. Venkatesan's corner from the left flank. SBI had a chance to level the score when Mohammed, dodging a crowded defence, crossed one to Joel on the right. The latter's shot was, however, safely pouched by ICF custodian V.P. Sathish Kumar. Not content with the cushion of a solitary goal, ICF made it 2-0 in the 32nd minute. Raegan secured a pass from Venkatesan on the left before launching it home. Both teams wore a dull look after the change of sides and didn't look like threatening each other. ICF, despite some patchy efforts, scored again in the 83rd minute. Reserve goalkeeper S. Agastin, substituted as a striker, volleyed a high ball from the midfield. Raegan took advantage of the defenders' lapse and fired one into the goal. A. Raegan was adjudged man-of-the-match. Earlier, Chennai Soccer played out a goalless draw with Nethaji in a first division match. Vishnu in final Vijay Sundar Prashanth and Vishnu Vardhan completed expected victories to make it to the final of the MCC-S.R. Subramaniam Memorial AITA men's tennis on Thursday. Prashanth took on P.C. Vignesh in the more lop-sided of the two semifinals, easing to a 6-1, 6-1 win. Vignesh could call on a big serve when necessary, but a mounting unforced error count never really gave him a chance and he was broken in the third, fifth and seventh games of the first set. The pattern wasn't very different in the second as Vignesh was broken in the fourth, sixth and eighth games and the match headed to an early conclusion. On the adjacent court, Vishnu's big serve and crunching ground strokes were too much for Ajai Selvaraj. Vishnu pocketed the first set comfortably, but Ajai pulled things back in the second, keeping it even for some time. The top-seeded Vishnu, however, prevailed 6-2, 6-3 to reach the final. The results: Semifinals: Vijay Sundar Prashanth bt P.C. Vignesh 6-1, 6-1; Vishnu Vardhan bt Ajai Selvaraj 6-2, 6-3 . Ram Prakash sizzles B. Ram Prakash's spell of six for 27 helped T.I.
