YSR sentiment will not work now, says Viveka

Special Correspondent

KADAPA: YSR sentiment will not work always in every election for Y.S. Vijayamma, wife of late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Minister for Agriculture Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy said on Friday.

Addressing Congress functionaries at a meeting at Vempalle in Pulivendula constituency, the Minister said YSR sentiment had helped Vijayamma win unanimously as MLA from Pulivendula constituency after his demise, but not now. The reason why she had to resign was not clear, he said, he added. Reiterating his resolve to contest against Ms. Vijayamma, his sister-in-law, Mr. Vivekananda Reddy said he would consider staying away from contest, if leader of the YSR Congress requested the Congress high command not to field candidate from Pulivendula.

The Telugu Desam Party would certainly field a candidate and would not leave the field open for the YSR Congress or the Congress, Mr. Vivekananda Reddy said.
