569 students presented certificates at the ‘Graduation of the Class 2011'

HYDERABAD: The Indian School of Business is planning to increase its intake by 200 students in 2012 after its campus in Mohali becomes fully operational.

The ISB has decided not to confine itself to offering post-graduate programmes, but to launch new programmes in the coming days. One such programme - Fellow Programme – was launched recently for producing students who can be recruited as faculty members to the best of the schools across the globe.

ISB Dean Ajit Rangnekar disclosed this to reporters on the sidelines of the 10th graduation day held on Saturday which was attended by Rockefeller Foundation president Judith Rodin and WPP Group chief executive officer Sir Martin Sorrell.

Graduation certificates were presented to 569 students of the batch and the ISB wore a festive look with families and friends of the students thronging the campus in good numbers.

Excellence awards

Rajat Agarwal and Akshay Rajagopalan were presented the “Scholar of Excellence” award in recognition of their consistent academic achievement, while Atma Shivlanka was awarded the “Chairman's award for Excellence in Leadership” given to the best all rounder.

Sixty students were awarded ISB scholarship while 65 students whose grades were in the top 10 were included in the Dean's List.

With the Graduation of the Class 2011, ISB, now has over 3,500 alumni spread across 25 countries in a wide spectrum of sectors including consulting, finance, real estate, media, manufacturing, IT & ITeS, Telecom and Automobile. Mr. Rangnekar said India was set to emerge as an important centre of global management education and ISB would continue to groom leadership.
