Agro-investors' meet put off

Special Correspondent

Bangalore: The global agro-investment meet, scheduled to be held in June, is likely to be postponed to the end of the year. No reasons have been given for the postponement.

Minister for Agriculture Umesh V. Katti told presspersons the Government had planned the meet to strengthen agriculture and horticulture sectors here. It was with the aim of bringing rapid changes in agriculture, horticulture, dairy and agriculture marketing sectors by bringing in private investment, he said.

Mr. Katti said a group of farmers would be sent to China or Israel to learn about the popular techniques in the agricultural sector there.
