Nagercoil: The fishing harbour at Colachel would be modernised if All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam was voted to power in the coming Assembly election, said its general secretary Jayalalithaa.

Addressing a gathering during her election campaign at Colachel in Kanyakumari district on Saturday, she said that financial assistance would be extended to those Christians who wanted to go on pilgrimage to Jerusalem on the lines of Muslims getting assistance for going on Haj pilgrimage. She also assured to provide Scheduled Caste (SC) status to Dalit Christians so that they could avail government schemes meant for Hindu SC people.
