4,689 officials to take up poll duty in Theni

THENI: A total of 4,689 officials would be deployed for poll duty in all the four Assembly constituencies in the district for conducting free and fair election, said District Election Officer and Collector A. Karthik.

In a release here on Saturday, he said that 832 polling officials for Andipatti, 1,271 officials for Periakulam, 1,254 officials for Bodinayakkanur and 1,332 officials for Cumbum were deputed for this purpose.

Rotation basis

The allotment of work at polling stations for officials including government officials and teachers was made by computers adopting rotation basis only.

The work allotment was supervised by election observers C.P. Tripathi and Raju Narayanaswamy, and District Revenue Officer R. Brinda Devi.
