HYDERABAD: Commuters travelling in air-conditioned buses in twin cities can now look forward to some entertainment as APSRTC is planning to install LCD television sets in buses. LCD television sets will be installed in 36 air-conditioned buses being operated on different routes in the State Capital by April 15 and the job has been entrusted to a private company, said RTC Greater Hyderabad Zone, Executive Director, A. Puroshotam Naik. Fifty more air-conditioned buses would also be added to the existing fleet. Efforts were also being made to introduce advanced bus arrival information system in all the air-conditioned buses, he said. Under the system, controllers or traffic guides deployed at stages would be announcing details about the arrival of air-conditioned buses. The frequency of these buses would be increased once the new vehicles were added to the fleet, said Mr. Naik.
