Kiran lauds Indian team

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on Saturday congratulated the Indian cricket team for winning the coveted World Cup in the finals at Mumbai.

Mr. Reddy said the Indian team performed brilliantly to lift the World Cup after 28 years.

The Chief Minister in a congratulatory message to Indian captain M.S. Dhoni said, “As a cricketer myself, I am thrilled by the outcome of the finals. Performance of the Indian team was marvellous. The Indian team has outplayed the Lankans in all departments of the game. Every player of the team played brilliantly. The whole nation was watching the game and was expecting India to win the World Cup.It was a well-fought match. Sri Lankans were a strong opponent and they came to the finals without a single defeat. You and every member of the Indian team deserve all kudos. After a splendid victory over Pakistan, this consecutive win against Sri Lanka in the final proved that we are the real champions.”
