Focus on mining safety

Granite owners meeting in Srikakulam on Sunday

SRIKAKULAM: Srikakulam Granite Quarry Association decided to give top priority for safety mining in the district. The association will celebrate Mines Safety Week in the month of May with the association of Mines and Geology Department, according to the association vice president Duvvada Srinivas. He said that the association will discuss the various pending issues such as blasting licenses reduction of fees and other issues, with the support of leaseholders of Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts. “We will give top priority for the workers of the granite quarries. All safety norms will be implemented to ensure their safety.

The guidelines of the government will also be followed,” he added.
