Sumesh brace highlight of Eagles win
MADURAI: Sumesh struck a brace as Eagles FC (Kerala) edged out PIFA Colaba Youngstar (Maharashtra) 2-1 in a Group ‘C' match of the second division I-league at the Race Course Stadium here on Sunday.
Sumesh put Eagles ahead in the 29th minute, but Mintu Saha equalised in the 64th. Sumesh's strike three minutes later proved the match-winner.
In the other fixture, Royal Wahingdoh (Meghalaya) blanked Chandni FC (Kerala) 3-0. Malsawmtluanga, Jacki Chand Singh and Seitya Sen Singh were the scorers. Monday is a rest day. — Principal Correspondent
