Abu Baker scores hat-trick

Mysore: Abu Baker continued his good form when he scored a hat-trick (72nd, 73rd and 77th minute) and helped Kodagu register a 3-1 win over host Mysore in a semifinal super-league tie in the inter-district football championships conducted by Mysore District Football association here on Sunday. Centre-forward Shashank reduced the margin for host Mysore in the 53rd minute of the game.

With this win Kodagu finished all its matches in the super-league and ended up with four points (one win, one draw and a loss).

Mysore finished at the bottom with one point — with one draw and two losses. In the other game, Mandya and Dakshina Kannada played out a goalless draw and earned a point each. Both the teams finished their league engagements with five points each and took the top two places in the league and qualified for the final, which has been slated for Tuesday. — Our Correspondent
