Murder accused safe

VIJAYAWADA: Railway Gangman Amanjuri Satyanarayana Murthy, 36, a murder accused, who attempted suicide in police custody on Saturday, was safe in Government General Hospital, according to the city police. Murthy was not attending to duty for past 11 months and allegedly killed his friend to help his wife secure a job in Railways by projecting the death as his own.

The doctors said that Murthy's condition was improving. The incident occurred after the police arrested Murthy and registered a case of murder against him. He had inflicted self injuries on the neck.
