VELLORE: Arunkumar Bal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Defence, New Delhi, and the Election Observer for the Vellore Assembly Constituency visited Ramanaickanpettai, Allapuram Town Panchayat, Old town, and Utharamadha Koil Street in the Vellore constituency on Monday and conducted enquiries with the public as to whether the candidates or their representatives distributed money or prizes to them. He also asked the residents whether they had the electors' photo identity cards. On seeing election propaganda being carried out on behalf of a candidate in an auto-rickshaw, he checked whether the vehicle has been given the permit for being used for election propaganda, and whether the permit was original. Anaicut constituency Sadananda Sonbarsa, Election Observer (Expenditure) for the Anaicut Assembly Constituency visited the Anaicut Block Development Office on Monday evening and inspected the accounts submitted by the agents of 10 out of the 12 candidates contesting from the constituency in the April 13 Assembly elections. According to a release from the Information and Public Relations Office, the Observer has asked the remaining two candidates to submit their accounts before 3.30 p.m. on April 7.
