100 scholarships for poor students
Chandigarh: To encourage meritorious students and students from poor families to pursue education even after Class X, the Punjab Government will distribute over 100 scholarships and full fee concession to diploma students studying in various polytechnic colleges of the State.
Disclosing this here on Monday, an official spokesman said the State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training will distribute the scholarships worth Rs.12,000 each to students whose family income is less than Rs.1.50 lakh per year.
In addition, 40 students whose family income is less than Rs.1 lakh per year will also be awarded full fee concession amounting to Rs.27,225 each, he added.
