Lady doctor was slapped by a patient's attended NEW DELHI: The All-India Institute of Medical Sciences Resident Doctors' Association has asked the hospital administration to enhance security at the hospital after an on-duty lady doctor was slapped by a patient's attended in the medical ward. “The incident took place on Sunday afternoon. We met senior hospital officials demanding that the on-duty security staff who did not take any action at the time of the incident be suspended. The relatives of a patient admitted to the hospital about a week ago got agitated after the patient died. The lady doctor was held by the collar and slapped by the patient's attended,'' said a member of the Institute RDA. The RDA has now demanded that the private company in-charge of security be changed and that all non-essential exits in the hospital be closed. “At the time of the incident one of the doctor who was present in the ward, immediately came to the spot and prevented the situation from turning ugly. There was no security officer present near the ward at the time of the incident. Later, despite the doctors attempt to call the security chief there was no response from him,'' said RDA president Dr. Debjyoti Karmakar. The RDA is now demanding the suspension of the chief security officer and that an FIR be registered on the matter.
