VILLUPURAM: Randomised selection of electronic voting machines for each of the 11 Assembly constituencies in Villupuram district was done here on Wednesday in the presence of Collector R. Palanisamy, election observers and the candidates or their agents. The Collector said that randomisation was done with the aid of the software provided by the Election Commission and, lists of the numbered EVMs for each constituency had been handed over to the candidates or their agents. If political parties had identified any more sensitive booths, they could pass on information to him for taking action in consultation with the election observers. Complaints Mr. Palanisamy said that the election control room set up at the Collectorate had so far received 279 poll-related complaints. Of these, 250 had been attended to and 29 were under investigation. The election control room, functioning round the clock, could be contacted over toll free number 1800-4257018, or cell phone 7598706255 or landline 04146-229300. Complaints register maintained in the control room would be periodically checked by the Collector and the election observers.
