Yeddyurappa hopes metro may roll out in a month
Special Correspondent
Metro Rail officials not at fault as there is a delay in getting certifications, Chief Minister says.
BANGALORE: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa on Tuesday said he hoped the metro will roll out in about a month but was noncommittal on the exact date.
Speaking to presspersons here, he refused to set any fresh deadline for the beginning of commercial operations of Namma Metro, which has already missed its April 4 deadline.
Asked if he would take action against the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation officials for the embarrassment, the Chief Minister said they were not at fault as there is a delay in getting mandatory certifications.
He said Chief Secretary S.V. Ranganath had held a meeting with officials regarding the certifications and was expected to go to Delhi soon.
