Youth power: Students participating in an awareness programme in Tuticorin on Wednesday. TIRUNELVELI: A voter awareness camp was organised at Sadakkathullah Appa College in Palayamkottai on Wednesday to encourage the young first-time voters to cast their votes without fail. Addressing the students, Project Officer, District Rural Development Agency R. Sankar said awareness camps were being organised as per the instruction of the Election Commission to motivate voters to discharge their democratic duty without fail. Student, who would be the first-time voters, should exercise their franchise as early as possible. At the awareness camp held at Victoria Girls Higher Secondary School, Tuticorin, Collector C.N. Maheshwaran distributed a letter appealing to voters to cast votes without fail on April 13. “Apart from casting your votes, you should motivate others to exercise their franchise to achieve cent per cent poll percentage,” the letter says.
