Three officials convicted

HYDERABAD: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) courts at Hyderabad and Vijayawada have convicted three officials, including a sub-inspector of police who was trapped while accepting a bribe of Rs. 5,000 in 2006.

S Bhaskar, the SI of Dornipadu police station in Kurnool district , was sentenced to three years rigorous imprisonment by the court at Hyderabad, an ACB press release said.

Another ACB court at Hyderabad awarded one year imprisonment to Mir Younus Ali, an assistant engineer at the Integrated Tribal Development Agency at Eturunagaram in Warangal district, who was trapped when he accepted a bribe of Rs. 10,000 in November 2002.

K. Krishna Mohan Rao, panchayat secretary of Pedakaragraharam in Bandar mandal of Krishna district, was sentenced to six months of jail term by the ACB court at Vijayawada. He was also involved in a graft case in October 2005, the release added.
