Hyderabad: Justice Raja Elango of the A.P. High Court on Wednesday quashed a case of murder against Pothula Suresh, leader of the Reorganisation Committee (ROC), a breakaway outfit of the People's War Group. He was accused in 15 cases and he got relief from one of the cases. Suresh is one of the prime accused in a case pertaining to murder of the sarpanch of the C K Palli village in Anantapur district. The sessions court acquitted all the accused except Suresh in this case as he was not available and absconding when the trial went on. Suresh was arrested in November 2010 at Surat in Gujarat. Now Suresh contended that when all are acquitted the case against him be quashed as the prosecution failed in the session's court. The court granted the relief. Petition dismissed A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Nisar Ahmad Kakru and Justice Vilas V Afzulpurkar on Wednesday dismissed a petition filed seeking a direction to the Income Tax Department to proceed against Eenadu group of companies and Ramoji Rao for alleged tax evasions. The writ petition was filed by Krishna Reddy of Hyderabad. He said that he made representation and there has been no response form the Income Tax Department though they issued notices. The Bench felt that the application was of recent origin and he can wait for the decision of the department. The Bench gave liberty to the petitioner to approach the court if no action is taken.
