KHAMMAM: Siddharth Jain, Project Director, Outer Ring Road, Hyderabad, has been appointed new Collector for the district.

According to official sources, Mudawath Mallikarjuna Naik, Municipal Commissioner, Guntur, will be the new Joint Collector. He will succeed M.A. Azeem, who has been appointed Rationing Officer of Hyderabad.

Mr. Jain, an IAS officer of 2001 batch, will be the 41st Collector of the district.

He hails from Madhya Pradesh. He had earlier worked in Adilabad, Prakasam, and Guntur districts in various capacities. Mr. Naik, an IAS officer of 2005 batch, is a native of Guntur district. The government issued orders to this effect on Friday just a few days ahead of the scheduled visit of Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan to Bhadrachalam in connection with Sri Rama Navami and Pushkara Pattabhishekam festivities slated for April 12 and 13 respectively.
