Helpline for children launched in Medak

SANGAREDDY: Minister for Women and Child Welfare V. Sunitha Lakshma Reddy called upon the officials to protect child rights
Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the Children's magazine ‘Pillala Patrika' brought by the UNICEF with the help of district administration and launch of a toll free number here on Friday, she said that child reporters' programme was being held in 13 States across the nation and Medak has been selected in Andhra Pradesh. Informing that the magazine would be bi-monthly, the Minister said that children can call and highlight the problems they were facing on toll free number 1800-4255-5080. She promised that the details of the children will not be divulged.
Collector S. Suresh Kumar suggested students to bring the problems being faced in the school to the notice of the officials by calling the toll free number. Narayanakhed MLA P. Kishta Reddy, the Patancheru MLA, T. Nandeeswar Goud were present, MLC V. Bhoopal Reddy, UNICEF representative Vikas Varma and others participated in the programme.
