A wide range of chikankari fabrics on display

Staff Reporter

VISAKHAPATNAM: An exhibition-cum-sale of exclusive chikankari, hand embroidered fabrics is being organised by Binaca Creations at Fortune Inn Sree Kanya Hotel. Breezy colours, ideal for the sweltering days of summer, are on display at the exhibition. The fine and intricate shadow-work type of embroidery done in the fabrics are a class apart.

The items exhibited are exclusive embroidered Lucknowi saris, designer dress materials with chiffon duppatas, kurtis, skirts, salwars, men's wear in cotton. The collections have innovative designs using applique works, sequins and chikankari work on Mangalgiri cottons. The patterns and effects created depend on the types of stitches and the thicknesses of the threads used in the embroidery. The exhibition will be on from 10 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. on Saturday.
