There are no short cuts to good health, says Dr. Surya Prabha

Class X students stage a skit on ‘Ill-effects of eating junk food'

VISAKHAPATNAM: The principles of maintaining good health and hygiene should be instilled at the school-level itself because only healthy children could give rise to a healthy nation, observed the GM of Visakha Steel General Hospital V. Surya Prabha on Friday.

Delivering the inaugural address of the World Health Day celebrations at Delhi Public School in Visakhapatnam Steel Township, she appreciated the efforts of the school to observe such a crucial day and emphasised on quality.

She advised students not to queue up for junk food and exercise patience in matters of health.

“Just as there are no short cuts to success, similarly there are no short cuts to good health. Children should avoid buying medicines across the counters because they can have side effects. Junk food should be avoided at all cost as it is detrimental to health,” she stated.

Dr. Surya Prabha also cited the example of microbes which are stubborn, disciplined, and systematic and how they are of various strains and develop resistance to antibiotics.

After the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, a melodious song was sung by the school choir. The students of Class X staged a skit on “Ill-effects of eating junk food”.

The skit was hilarious and was filled with morals.

Many attractive placards with eye-catching slogans were made.

Principal of the school B. Aruna Kumari urged the students to adhere to the principles of health and hygienic.
