UTF stages protest on teachers' problems
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh United Teachers' Federation on Friday staged a dharna here demanding scrapping of apprenticeship for teachers appointed through DSC-2008 among others.
Speaking at the protest site, State general secretary of the teachers' body I. Venkateswar Rao said it would not be a burden on the government if it gave regular scale to the DSC-2008 appointees compared to exploitation of over two lakh teachers appointed during the last 15 years with apprenticeship condition. He urged the government to give notional increments to SC/ST untrained, municipal, aided and tribal teachers and special education volunteers.
