VISAKHAPATNAM: A team of doctors of a city hospital performed laparoscopic surgery on a four-day old baby boy suffering from a congenital diaphragmatic hernia. The baby boy, weighing 2.8 kg was brought to the Manipal Hospital by his parents Pydiraju and Lakshmi from Korukonda in Vizianagaram district with a complaint of breathlessness and vomiting. After the problem was diagnosed through tests and the patient was found to be stable and fit the keyhole surgery, under anaesthesia, lasting 90 minutes was performed on the boy last week, paediatric surgeon of Manipal Hospital M. Srinivasa Rao said at a press conference here on Saturday.
