BHUBANESWAR: Within 24 hours of a medical shop employee being shot at in Sastri Nagar here, city police on Sunday claimed to have arrested five youths, in their early twenties, on charges of attempting to murder on receiving ‘supari'. Mr. Mishra, the employee, who sustained a severe bullet injury in his chest, was undergoing treatment in a private hospital. His condition was stated to be critical. The youths were identified as Lingaraj Sahu (19), Sridhar Patra (20), Balaram Sahu (20), Soumya Ranjan Sahu (21) and Umakant Dalei (21). An investigating officer said most of them hailed from slums. They were allegedly offered Rs. 2 lakh to kill Mr. Mishra, to which the accused youths had immediately agreed, he said.
