KATTAPPANA: There will be one booth in the newly created tribal grama panchayat of Edamalakkudy in Idukki district and it will be set up at the Societykudy settlement. Deputy Collector (Election) K.N.Raveendran said that there are 1,533 voters in the grama panchayat and as per the Election Commission's direction, an auxiliary booth is allowed near the main booth only when the voters' number exceeds 1,600. There was a demand for allocating more booth in the forest settlement as there is long distance between settlement areas.
