Cylinder explodes, 3 persons sustain burns

HYDERABAD: Three persons, including two children, sustained burn injuries after an LPG cylinder exploded in their house at Nandanavam Colony in Meerpet in the early hours of Tuesday.

B. Kondal, a private employee, repaired a gas stove after his wife Padma complained of gas leaking out from the cylinder. When Kondal lit the stove, fire broke out suddenly leading to burn injuries to him and his children Aparanji (5) and Vamshi (4). Neighbours shifted Kondal and his children to a nearby hospital. Doctors said that the condition of Kondal was critical while the children were recuperating.

Woman murdered

In a separate incident, a 42-year-old woman, A. Tirupatamma, was murdered by her husband Kurmaiah at their house at Sriram Colony in Pahadisherif on Monday night.

Kurmaiah killed his wife by attacking her with an axe when she was asleep , according to police.
