Two bags of coins worth Rs. 5 lakh seized

KADAPA: Railway Kodur Sub-Inspector Hanumantha Naik seized two bags full of coins amounting to Rs. 5 lakh from a car at Balupalle check-post during vehicle checking on Tuesday night.
The persons travelling in the vehicle told police that they had secured change for Rs. 5 lakh from the State Bank of India branch at Tirumala and were taking it to Jadcherla market committee in Mahabubnagar district. The seized amount was handed over to Income Tax officials.
Meanwhile, Porumamilla Circle Inspector Vijayabhaskar and staff seized 864 bottles of liquor worth Rs. 2,200 from a car at Porumamilla-Markapuram check-post in Porumamilla. Three persons were taken into custody.
