Badvel MLA back in Jagan camp
Special Correspondent
KADAPA: The imbroglio over Congress MLA of Badvel Pattupogula Mary Kamalamma's allegiance ended on Wednesday with the Dalit MLA deciding to continue her support to YSR Congress Party, with some conditions.
Ms. Kamalamma was said to have assured her support to YSR Congress with certain demands, which included her re-nomination as MLA candidate in the next general elections and a free hand to her to choose local body contestants in her constituency. She was said to have sought steps to check the interference of former Congress legislator D.C. Govinda Reddy, as differences cropped up between the two leaders of late.
The MLA had been away from public gaze for the last two days and Minister for Health D.L. Ravindr a Reddy and Congress MLA of Kamalapuram G. Veerasiva Reddy announced on Tuesday that she would back the Congress candidates in the by-polls. Ms. Kamalamma returned to her residence in Porumamilla and held discussions with her followers.
Former MPs Bhooma Nagi Reddy and Mekapati Rajamohana Reddy, former Minister Konathala Ramakrishna and MLAs Sobha Nagi Reddy, G. Srikanth Reddy and A. Amarnath Reddy discussed at length with her on Wednesday
Later, Ms. Kamalamma left along with the Bhooma couple to call on YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, who was campaigning in Jammalamadugu constituency. Meanwhile, former MLA D.C. Govinda Reddy told newsmen that he had no differences with Ms. Kamalamma.
