Ambedkar birth anniversary

KOLAR: Various Dalit organisations and the Kolar district administration celebrated the 120th birth anniversary of Ambedkar in different parts of the district on Thursday.
Statues of Ambedkar were garlanded at Bangarpet Circle in Kolar and on Nachiketa Hostel premises.
A programme was organised by the district administration at T. Chennaiah Rangamandira. Many Dalit organisations took out processions of photographs of the architect of the Constitution.
The programme was conducted with much revelry in Kolar Gold Fields (KGF). Disqualified MLA Y. Sampangi, former legislators S. Rajendran and M. Bhaktavatsalam participated in different functions. The birth anniversary was observed in BEML factory also.
