NTC workers stage demonstration

COIMBATORE: Workers of Coimbatore Spinning and Weaving Mills (CS & W mills) here staged a demonstration in front of the National Textile Corporation on Friday demanding that work should not be taken up during the entire shift if there was no power for two or three hours during the shift schedule.

According to a trade union source, the mills faced about three hours load shedding on Friday and workers were unable to continue with work during these hours and return to work after three hours as they came from the nearby places too.

The mill should not take up production during the entire shift duration if there was power cut, the workers said.
